As you can see with these bloopers from our Indiegogo campaign, we definitely know how to have fun. I am sure you look at us and see three girls who go kitesurfing and then go kitesurfing again. And this is true, but at the same time, we do actually work, and a lot! More than once a week, KiteSirens meetings happen on both windy and sunny days. 😉
With the 2016 summer off to a good start, the Sun Tribe event is around the corner. Today we want to share with you some of the things that are happening behind the fun and tropical images we post every day.
To start, we are excited to say that with our Indiegogo Campaign, we have raised almost USD$800 to help fund Sun Tribe! Big thanks to all the friends and family who supported us with donations. Even though we are far away from our goal, we are extremely grateful and we hope that more people will contribute what they can to help girls learn to kitesurf!
I am in my home city at the moment, Barcelona, organizing all the action that is about to come with Sun Tribe. This project is about to happen thanks to all the organizations that believe in Sun Tribe and are cooperating with us.
We are stopping at three of the most important kitesurfing spots in Spain: Delta del Ebro, La Manga del Mar Menor and Tarifa. In each stop, we are working together with the city councils to select the students but we are also counting on support from the best kite schools!
DeltaKiteSup kitesurf school – Located in the spectacular natural park of Delta del Ebro, the school welcomed us from the beginning and are already supporting the event. They published a KiteSirens article on their website, they are willing to provide us with gear when we need, share their teaching space and are giving us good ideas and advice. Clearly, if you are thinking on kitesurfing in Spain, this is one of the stops you have to make. Go and visit the DeltaKiteSup team!
Mas Kite kitesurf school – This amazing school is located in another Spanish kitesurfing paradise, in the middle of the magical natural park of La Manga del Mar Menor, with the best kiting and scuba diving conditions. They are like our angels as they say yes to anything we ask. They are providing us extra gear and even helping us to contact other organizations from the area who are willing to support us. These are the guys you need to visit if you are close by and willing to kitesurf!
Bull kitesurf school – From Tarifa, we have another crew that is always supporting us with a smile. The Bull team are not only willing to provide us with extra kitesurfing gear but are also willing to provide the girls with extra kitesurfing lessons! They are definitely meeting the expectations of being a great school in one of the kitesurfing capitals of the world! Tarifa is full of kitesurf schools but this one deserves an applause!
Also, we are happy and so thankful for all the support we have received from…
- Tona boards! I think the three of us fell in love with the Tona Eden board. Read Carolina’s blog The Soft Spot of Kitesurfing to know more about it.
- IKO (International Kitesurfing Organization) is currently discussing ways in which they can support us. Since I’m an IKO certified instructor, and Carolina will be taking her courses this summer before the event, we are all very excited to have them engage with us on Sun Tribe!
- Our furry friend Meerkite for publishing our pictures and campaign.
- The girls from Kitechix for sharing the Sun Tribe campaign.
- UPDATE 13 July, 2016 – We recently learned that the team from the scuba diving school Balkysub in La Manga del Mar Menor are willing to offer scuba diving and snorkeling lessons to the Sun Tribe girls!
And of course… we want to recognize our friends and family, who shared our posts and support us every day with our crazy lives. Also thanks to the craziest ones who decided to follow us on our Sun Tribe event assuring help and extra fun!
Every time we receive support, it’s like the universe is reminding us that we are on the right path, and that all the work and energy that we are putting into this project is going to transform into an awesome experience for all the girls that we are going to teach this summer.
Go Sun Tribe!!
